No — that’s the whole point of the Vitarra design. The mat lies on top of your mattress and works with the sheets you already use. There are no fitted-sheet sizing issues and no mattress depth concerns.

Two ways: a rubber-grip backing on the underside, and four magnetic corners. Place one of the included loose magnets under your fitted sheet at each corner of the mat — they pair with the mat’s built-in corner magnets and hold it steady all night, no mattress lifting required.

The included grounding cord snaps onto the mat and plugs into the ground port (the round third hole) of a properly grounded three-prong outlet. The cord connects only to the ground line — it does not carry electrical power to the mat.

If you’re not sure your outlet is grounded, an inexpensive outlet tester from any hardware store will tell you. If your outlet isn’t grounded, a grounding rod kit (sold separately) lets you connect directly to the earth outside.

Yes — thin clothing works, but bare skin contact is most effective. The more skin contact, the better the connection.

Start with 30–60 minutes per day and increase as desired. Grounding works best with consistent, regular use — which is why sleeping on the mat is the easiest habit to build.

Unplug the grounding cord first. Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold or warm water with a mild, sulfate-free detergent. Do not use bleach, fabric softeners, or whitening agents — they can coat or damage the conductive fibers. Line dry or gently tumble dry. Hot water and hot drying can damage the conductive fibers.

Absolutely. The mat folds up easily and sets up anywhere with a grounded outlet. Store it in a clean, dry location when not in use.

The included magnets are extremely strong. Keep them separated by the provided plastic rings when not in use — if they attach directly to each other they’re hard to pry apart, and letting them snap together from a distance can break them.

The grounding cord connects only to the earth/ground line of your outlet — the mat is never electrified. Follow three simple rules: only plug into a properly grounded three-prong outlet, don’t use the mat if your electrical system is ungrounded or faulty, and keep the mat away from water while plugged in.
